6 snacks to eat during a movie

Watching movies is a great way to chill, relax and even learn a little, depending on the kind of movies you’re seeing.
There are, however, so many other snacks you could try.

    1. Plantain chips
Plantain chips are thinly sliced fried plantain (ripe or unripe) that are crunchy and it is just the perfect snack for movie time. This sweet snack also has some nutritional benefits including serving as a good source of vitamin A and C.

    2. Nuts mix
Nuts are also good snacks to devour when you’re Netflix-ing and chilling. A good way to make this more exciting is when you mix different nuts together such as groundnuts, cashew nuts and almond nuts. Your mouth wouldn’t be sure what it is getting every time your hand goes into the bowl.

    3. Fruit salad
Eating a fruit salad during a movie is definitely a healthy option. Fruits contain natural sugar and it is easier for the body to break it down. Some fruits you could mix to make a fruit salad include banana, watermelon, pawpaw all chopped and iced if you like.

    4. Groundnut cake
Groundnut cake is a popular snack made from dry roasted groundnut and spices. It is a good source of proteins and vitamins. It is also great for weight loss and can replace your regular popcorn on movie nights.

    5. Chinchin
Chin chin is a fried snack in West Africa. It is similar to the Scandinavian snack klenat, a crunchy, donut-like baked or fried dough of wheat flour, and other customary baking items. Chin chin may contain cowpeas. Many people bake it with ground nutmeg for flavor.

The dough is usually kneaded and cut into small one-inch (or so) squares, about a quarter of an

inch thick, before frying. It’s a good source of energy and it is also a source of vitamins like A, B3, and D.

    6. Popcorn

5 foods you should never reheat in the oven

Let’s accept it, that it has happened to all of us when we are left with a huge amount of food that was made in the night.
Throwing it all away is a huge waste, so what do you do with it? You put it in a container in the fridge or freezer to eat later.
Most of the time we microwave the food and reheat it to consume later on. It seems like an ideal situation for most of the foods that we eat.
But, did you know there are some foods you really shouldn’t reheat in the microwave as they can actually harm your body?
There are a couple of foods you’re better off throwing in the bin if they’re leftover. Or just not make as much of it in the first place.
Whatever you do, reheating them isn’t a good idea. Take a look.
    1. Potato
Reheating potatoes is a bad idea because the heat is a breeding ground for the bacterium C. botulinum and this can cause food poisoning. The bacteria aren’t killed by the heat; they will actually multiply because of it!
    2 Chicken
If you’ve got any cooked chicken left over, you should eat it cold the next day or reheat it very slowly at a low temperature. What you shouldn’t do is put it in the microwave to be heated in a short burst. The proteins in the chicken will change if it is suddenly moved from the cold of the fridge to the heat of the microwave and this can really upset your stomach.
    3. Rice
Reheating rice is risky because it can be a breeding ground for bacteria. What you really shouldn’t do is let the rice get up to room temperature before reheating it. Just put it straight into the microwave when you take it out of the fridge. Even better: just eat it in one go or throw out the leftovers.
    4. Celery
You can find celery in a lot of soups, but if you’ve got any soup left over, it’s best to take out the celery. Celery contains nitrates and those transform into nitrites when they’re heated. Nitrites are toxic and are linked to cardiac diseases, among other things.
    5. Eggs
It’s best to eat eggs immediately after you’ve prepared them (or eat them cold later on), or throw them out. Reheating them can cause the release of toxins that can really damage your body.

  • 6 qualities of a good mother-in-law

    6 qualities of a good mother-in-law

It isn’t every day that you get to observe the traits of a great Mother in Law.

But when you do, the first thing to pursue is gratitude for the woman who’s been an inspiration.

After all, it doesn’t just take a daughter in law to bind a family. What is needed surely is an effort from all sides. Also lots of empathy and compassion.
While it would be unfair to label all mothers in law as bad women, it is very rare to come across mothers in law who are an inspiration.

Below I share with you 6 qualities of a good Mother in Law!

    1. Evolved

An evolved mother in law is a woman who is secure and independent enough to not just accept a new member in her family but also respect her. She will be intellectually bright as an individual and will truly understand the meaning of starting a new life and having one’s own space.

She is the best kind of mother in law to have. If you have such a mother in law, you have surely hit the jackpot. An evolved mother in law is the best of the types of South African mothers-in-law.

    2. Peacemaker

It is natural when two people share a space, sometimes there could be differences in opinions and ideologies mismatch. But here if your mother in law chooses to demean you then it will only ruin the peace and harmony of the house.

Instead, if you both respect each other’s opinions and even if she feels you are wrong, she can have a peaceful approach to make her daughter in law understand, which will not hurt her sentiments either.

    3. Kind-hearted

No matter what she says to you if by the end of the day she does something to show her kindness she is absolutely unharmful. If you know she is kind deep down inside then she will protect you.

She may not show it all the time but is her kindness which keeps things going on between you two and it is certainly one of the best qualities of a good mother in law to cherish.

    4. Compassionate

A compassionate mother in law will be a woman filled with love, empathy, and affection for you. The fact that you are married to her son will be a matter of kindness for her. She will do every bit possible to make you her own.

She will make an effort to genuinely provide you with love like your own mother. Having a compassionate mother in law will keep you at peace and sane at all times.

    5. Empath

What is that one thing we all want from our near and dear ones? The ability to understand our pain and stress? The ability to listen to us without being judgmental and biased.

So consider yourself blessed if you are among those very very few daughters in law if you have such a mother in law who can empathize with you.

    6. Considerate

Ok, so your mother in law might not be that perfect one, the one who loves you like your mother but if she considers your shortcomings and helps you in odd situations then it is not a bad quality at all.

One of the qualities of a good mother in law is that she considers you as a part of her family and supports you when you need her by your side, which is simply great.

  • How to take care of a sunburn

How to take care of a sunburn

If you’ve never had a sunburn before, you’re extremely lucky. You definitely don’t want to know how it feels like because they are absolutely dreadful.

A sunburn is only temporary but it can cause symptoms like painful skin, swelling and blisters.

In more extreme cases, patients can experience nausea, dizziness, fever and headaches and severe blistering on the skin, which requires you to go to the hospital for proper treatment.

These symptoms can last from a few hours up to a couple of days.

The first thing to know is that you should take preventative measures like applying screens before you leave the house and during the day, wearing protective clothing and avoiding direct sun exposure during peak hours.

But if it still happens that you get a mild sunburn at some point, there are a couple of remedies you can try until you heal without having to check into the hospital:

    1. Take a cool bath

When you have a sunburn, the immediate thing you want to do is get out of the sun. The burn is a sign that your skin has already been exposed excessively, so continuing to sit in the sun will make it worse.

The next thing you should do is take a cool shower or cool bath. This is better than a hot shower, which could irritate the skin further.

    2. Moisturize

Your skin right now is very sensitive. It needs some extra care, and one way to accelerate healing is to keep it moisturized so it doesn’t dry out.

The best option right now is a light moisturizer. An alternative that adds more benefits is applying a prescribed ointment that you can get over the counter.

You could also choose a natural remedy like aloe Vera gel which can help relieve some of the symptoms or a moisturizer with aloe Vera in it.

    3. Don’t disturb the blisters

A sunburn is literally a burn to your skin. And just like other severe types of burns, it could cause painful blisters.

You should know that the worst thing you can do if you have blisters is to pick or pop them. If you do, it increases your risk of infections.

What you should do instead is moisturize or apply a healing cream and keep the area covered until it pops on its own.

    4. Drink extra water

It’s also recommended that you drink plenty of water while your skin heals. A sunburn can cause the skin to draw fluid to the surface, which could leave you dehydrated and slow down the healing process.

So, make sure you drink enough water to replenish your skin and body in general.

    5. Protect your skin

As you heal, you need to do everything possible to prevent further damage. You probably still need to go outdoors so you should be cautious.

It’s advisable to stay out of the sun and wear heavier clothing that won’t expose your sunburnt skin more. Also, remember to moisturise then once those areas heal, you should apply sunscreen daily to prevent it from happening again.

  • Reasons why men find it tough to talk after s*x

Reasons why men find it tough to talk after s*x

Sex is great but when it comes to having a conversation after that, many men get awkward or simply change coarse.

They may do an amazing job uptill the sex which includes the wooing but after that some men do not know how to handle the pregnant pause.

Here are 5 reasons which may justify why some men find it difficult to have a conversation after sex.

    1. He fears she may ask for commitment
For women sex can hold a very deep meaning, connect them emotionally and some even feel that the souls are connected, but men just see it as sex. Even if a man wants to be intimate with you, if you are not married or not in a relationship, he may tend to fear your need for commitment after sex and this makes men hold back and awkard after sex.

    2. He is scared
Men need validation for almost everything they do and when it comes to sex, they fear their performance. No matter how much of a stud he pretends to be, if after sex he has become awkward, one of the reasons could be that he does not know how he performed is scared to hear anything negative from you.

    3. You are too clingy
Men do not like partners who are too clingy and after sex some women tend to do just that. If your man has become distant after sex then probably, you were clingy after the great time you had in bed.

    4. He did not enjoy himself
If he did not have a good time in bed with you then may just disconnect from you so conversation after sex will definitely not be possible. The best way to know so is to ask directly whether the sex you both had was satisying for them or not.

    5. Inferiority complex
One of the reasons why men get awkward after sex and do not speak up until you do is that they may have an inferiority complex which is common too. Some men keep thinking that they didn’t perform well and downgrade themselves even if you did not give that vibe. The fear of getting rejected from the opposite sex can be so strong sometimes that it turns into an inferiority complex.

5 things to think about when you miss your ex

Warm memories of your past relationship can catch you off-guard when you thought you’ve moved on.

You know that you both went through with the breakup and that it might have been for the best but, why is your heart now telling you something else?
For sure, missing an ex is normal especially if the breakup happened recently.

And now that you’re thinking about your past beau, you have to be wise with how you handle those strong emotions.

As you decide on what your next move is, here are five things to think about:

    1. Are those feelings real?

We hear all the time about how we need to follow what the heart wants. This sounds great in theory but in real life, it doesn’t work that well because feelings constantly change.

In this situation, think about whether your feelings are just memories passing by or whether they are actually strong to the point where you would want to reach out to your ex.

If you find that they are constantly shifting and that they are not really stable, then they might not be solid feelings that need your attention.

    2. Have you fully healed?

A healed heart is capable of separating feelings from facts. And if you aren’t fully okay, you probably shouldn’t trust what you’re feeling right now.

These confusing emotions might only be a result of the healing process. To keep yourself from making decisions you might regret later, assess whether you have fully healed first or not.

    3. Did you have a healthy relationship?

Not all breakups happen because of toxic situations. Sometimes it can happen because you’ve simply grown apart or even when you realise you’re not as compatible as you thought you were.Other times the breakup was triggered by serious issues like abuse. So before you decide to send them that ‘I miss you’ text, analyse if this relationship was healthy in the first place. This can help you avoid attaching yourself to a toxic partner again.

    4. How did you contribute to the breakup?

Normally, it’s hard to take responsibility when things go wrong. This requires us to silence the ego which is often hard to do. Regardless, you have to be honest with the fact that you weren’t perfect even when it’s clear that your ex might have been the one who messed up more. Even if you’re not getting back together, you will do the work and be a better partner in your future relationship.

    5. Is your relationship worth salvaging?

The final question you need to ask yourself is whether you should actually try to work things out, or if it’s better to leave your old relationship in the past. Missing someone doesn’t actually mean that you want them back so, this question might help you find some answers.

In case you think that you should call them, approach the situation with humility and take responsibility for your mistakes while you were dating. This might help you have a healthier start this time around.

  • 7 Factors You Must Consider When Selecting A Betting App

7 Factors You Must Consider When Selecting A Betting App

Tips: How To Choose A Betting App

Today, every average individual owns a smartphone and every average bettor uses their mobile to bet. And while some of them use mobile apps already, many are still yet to see the light. Using sites is great but apps provide a significantly better experience that no one should miss.

However, another lingering question is – how do I choose the best betting app for myself? As there are so many scams, it is very easy to fall prey to malicious software. We don’t want such a thing to happen to you so we have fashioned these tips to aid you in choosing your betting apps. Enjoy!

    Prioritise Legality

In everything you do, legality should be your number one casino. If the brand does not possess a valid licence, it is deemed illegal. And using their app means you are using an unauthorised app. It is why if you check any of the Best Betting App: South Africa recommended by us, all of them are licensed and regulated.

Licensing also goes beyond having a number to certify operations. There are several gambling bodies and we only advise you to stick with apps that the brand possesses a licence from a recognized and reputable body. And most importantly, the organisation should also be legally permitted to certify apps in your region.

    Betting App

    User Interface

The looks of betting apps also matter in our books. We rate them based on their interface because they are money-making applications which is a very delicate subject. The buttons must be visible and clickable. It is very important because a poorly designed app can cause you to lose money.

So before you commit to any app, navigate the interface and ensure that you understand. Figuring out how an app works should not take very long so if you don’t get it in a little time, it is a red flag.

    Safety and Security

If you can’t use a betting app without fear or worry for your safety, stay away from it. You need to be assured and confident that you are safe and that none of your information is at risk. One way to go about it is to check the online reputation of the operator.

The gambling community is an open one and users easily drop reviews on their experiences with using apps. And they are readily available online. So take a little time to read other players’ genuine thoughts about the operator and their apps. You can also try to confirm whether the operator has had sanctions or violations in the past—and if it is a result of jeopardising the safety of their customer. Putting these pieces together will help you to decipher if an app is safe or not.

    Customer Support

As perfect as we want every operator to be, we also need to be realistic with ourselves. We do not overrule some occasions where you may face problems with the app. And while the issue may be from your end most times, it can also be from the operator. What is important is their response to the situation. And that is where customer support comes in.

Not only should a good app allow you customer support, but it must also be effective and they must be responsive. There are various ways to reach out to them like emails, and calls, but the best in our books is live chat which has 24/7 support. We love that option because you get to chat with an agent directly and get the exact answers you seek.

    Payment Options

In most sports betting apps, depositing is never a problem. But when it is time to withdraw the money, it becomes a big issue. Anyone who has had withdrawal issues will tell you the frustration that comes with it. Imagine risking so much real money and learning about betting options to gain some money, and when you finally make the profits, you can’t withdraw it.

The good news is that you can avoid such problems in advance. And that is by verifying the avoidable payment methods before you start using the app. Ensure that your preferred option is among or else you may have a hard time getting your profits back to you.

    Bonuses and Promotions

Any bettor that states that they don’t like bonuses or promotions is hard to believe because who doesn’t? Such incentives come in handy and everyone loves them. But imagine not being able to claim it because you use an app. No one would like to have such an encounter. That is why you need to check for the available bonuses before signing up on the app.

We should also remind you that when considering bonuses, you should not chase big figures. What you should always look out for are the wagering requirements. Those requirements are what will determine how easily you can claim the bonuses. Offers with higher and unrealistic wagering requirements are not worth claiming no matter the size of the prizes.

    Sport Variety

A sports betting app should contain as many sports as possible. Some may claim that they bet on only one app but that is not an excuse for scanty sport selection in a bookie. We see it as a sign of incompetence so you should avoid such brands.

Sometimes, other sports may present better opportunities so it is best to have them present. You never know which one will provide your next huge profits.

    Wrap Up

When choosing a betting app, the first thing is to access the brand, not the app. If the brand is not able to pass some tests like the legality and security tests, then the app is not worth it. And if the brand qualifies, it doesn’t automatically make its app a good one—you will still need to review it according to the several criteria we listed.
