Saturday Night Party Ignite The Energy In The House #BBMzansi

The Housemates have been getting along, sharing stories, fixing each other’s hair, role-playing, and dancing with each other. The music in the House has set the tone for the Saturday Night Party.

The morning kicked off with some of the Housemates in the kitchen dancing and singing some old-school House music jams. This sparked interesting conversations around some of their favourite musicians and Casper Nyovest was featured on this list and he was cited as a great entertainer.

There was also a laundry session that took place and the Housemates were speaking freely about how they were feeling, and we hope that this means no one will be complaining about not having anything to wear.

The Housemates fill the silences with song, and we are here for the harmonies and the harmony in the house today. We are just trying to figure out who can’t dance in this House because some of the dance moves we are seeing are mind-blowing.

The Housemates have also discussed what they will be wearing tonight and Thato is ready to bring out not only the dance moves but also her lashes and Dinky has offered to help her get ready.

Some of the Housemates decided to nap before tonight so that they can have all the energy that will be required for the rocking that will take place.

Day six has proven to be one of the best days on the House, filled with laughter, a whole lot of positive energy, and some snoring from Libo.

All that’s left to do is to set up, glam up and rock!

  • Housemates Preparing For Saturday Night Party #BBMzansi

Housemates Preparing For Saturday Night Party #BBMzansi

The Big Brother Mzansi Housemates get to let their hair down during their first Saturday Night Party, which will probably come as something of a relief after the week they’ve had: the excitement of entering the House, the emotional strain of sharing deep, personal stories, losing the Wager Task – it’s all taken its toll.

The week also started with all of the Housemates looking like they were just the very best of friends, but time has brought about some divisions in the group – not surprising considering the considerably varied background the Housemates have. They can’t be expected to always get along.

Zino is the youngest Housemate of the season, he admits to being a “mommy’s boy”, and is a student of digital marketing. Contrast this with another Jozi native, Terry, whose professional aspirations a very different, indeed. An adult content creator who described herself as “a soft thug”, the two seem as different as they can get. They do have one thing in common, though: Terry clearly has a very soft spot for her mother, saying that, were she to win the competition, “I want to help my mother with the family.”

Zino has confessed that he has something of a soft spot for Venus, the 25-year-old bartender and aspiring musician from Durban, although he’s keeping his distance so as not to lead himself into temptation because he has a girlfriend, extra Domum. Venus has been noticeably quiet during the first week of Big Brother, in contrast to the decidedly prominent personalities of the rest of the group, but she’s clearly been noticed. The men have given her the codename, “Trespasser”, for… reasons? Strangely, though, she says that “talking always helps me – expressing myself”. Perhaps she should start doing that, then.

Venus has spent a bit of time paired up with Themba this week, as they had been collaborating on music for the first Wager Task. Aside from his musical abilities, Themba earns a living as a tattoo artist, which comes as no surprise to anyone who has seen his heavily inked face. An early fan favourite, Themba is something of an enigma. During a recent Diary Session, he laid out the ways in which he has been executing his strategy: orchestrating the so-called “Men’s Conferences”, being deliberately enigmatic in order to stir interest in himself, and being sure to share a room with B.U., who he sees as his most dangerous rival. Keep your enemies close, we guess.

B.U. is also an aspiring musician, although he lived a former life as a research analyst. From the jump, everybody knew that he was a vegan (because he wasted no time in telling us), albeit the type of vegan who doesn’t shy away from wearing an animal skin headdress. “I’m Zulu first, vegan second,” was his explanation for that, which is fair enough. Unaware that Biggie already knew the identity of “The Trespasser”, he inadvertently let it slip that this was his crush – so, Venus has another potential suitor.

Somebody who is probably really looking forward to letting his hair down (not that he has any) is Tulz. Burdened with the responsibility of being Head of House during the first week and overseeing what turned out to be a disastrous Wager Task, he must be dying for an opportunity to just forget about things. The voice artist, actor and broadcaster have stated that he intends to play it cool, and not lose his temper. “It’s not always easy,” he admitted during yesterday’s Diary Session. It’s safe to say that not everyone has the same zen-based strategy to winning the game. Tulz admitted that his friendship with Nale has turned into a crush, on his part, but he’s resigned to the fact that it “probably won’t happen.”

Describing herself as a “fine gyal, not a sad gyal”, Nale hails from Pretoria and is a model and actress and admits to being “a big flirt”. She’s not had the best few days, recently, after she called a House meeting to address some stress that Mphowabadimo was experiencing, but the latter clammed up when it was her time to speak, leaving the House feeling like Nale was stirring up drama for no reason. “It felt like I was set up by my friends,” she complained. “But then I realised I don’t have ‘friends’. This is a game.” As perceptive as that comment might be, the sense of betrayal might take longer to subside than she thinks.

Mphowabadimo originally intended to keep the fact that she is a sangoma secret but ended up spilling the beans on Day 1. She thinks that this may be the reason that some people are stand-offish toward her, and she complains that she’s being flatly ignored by some Housemates. “The only way I will win the R2 million is by keeping my head underwater,” she said during yesterday’s Diary Session. The problem with that strategy is that – eventually – you’ll drown.

One of the Housemates who admits to having a problem with Mphowabadimo – at least at first – is Dinkybliss. She says that, rather than being opposed to Mphowabadimo being a sangoma, she actually has something of the same gift, although she had been suppressing it all her life. This led to her not being able to meet Mpho’s eyes because she felt exposed. “The energies were too strong.”

Dinkybliss came up in Themba’s Diary Session too. He says that he has her all sussed out and can manipulate her to tap all the information he wants from her. It turns out, however, that Dinky is perhaps not entirely under his thrall – she’s onto him. “Themba thinks he can use me for information, but I’m feeding him the wrong information.” The game has already turned into three-dimensional chess.

Dinkybliss seems to have made a friend quite early, though – Yoli. This very bubbly woman teaches performing arts and studies psychology, so she defaulted to taking a lead role in formulating the Wager Task Presentation. She admitted to having a crush on B.U., but she’s moving on. “It’s not reciprocated, so I’m just gonna turn it off, and move on.” Along with Nale and Venus, she counts accountant Thato as one of her closest allies.

For her part, Thato admits to being open to romantic relationships in the House. “I’m single, so I’m looking,” she explains. “Honestly, my crush in the House was Tulz, but competition is tough. I’m quite clear who I think he has a crush on.” Without actually naming names, it’s likely that she thinks it’s Nale since she and Tulz have been spending quite a bit of time together.

When Sis Tamara came into the House, so did a lot of pronouns. As “a gender non-conforming experience”, Sis Tamara goes by he & him, she & her and they & them. They have expressed a strong bond with Terry. “We are basically the same person.” When speaking about any romantic relationships that might be going around, Sis Tamara claims that “the sexual tension is there. The temptation is there.” According to her, Terry will “eventually let her guard down and allow Gash1 in.” Perhaps, but it’ll be a challenge. Speaking about Gash1, Terry said, “there’s something there that I’m very suspicious of. Something is just off.”

Given all of these dynamics, and the assorted strategies and intrigue, tonight’s Saturday Night Party is going to be an interesting one: will we have some hookups? Some explosive behaviour? Tune in and find out.

Those that have stood up in front of an audience and had to present know that one of the keys to delivering a great presentation or performance is by preparing. By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail and this is exactly what we saw happen in Biggie’s house during the Wager Task.

The Big Brother Housemates knew that they had a Wager Task coming up but most of the time they looked unbothered. Their attitude spelt, andizi and angizingeni! From where we were standing, they underestimated the Wager Task.

There was a time when thy postponed rehearsal, and when they did give it a shot there was no enthusiasm or determination. More than once we witnessed them chit-chatting and fooling around. For a moment even we mistook Biggie’s House for a resort.

More often than not, instead of rehearsing, people opted to relax, gossip and unwind. They even managed to squeeze in some time to twerk in the Jacuzzi. When it was time to cook, one would swear that they were preparing to feed an entire army. They didn’t foresee hard times coming.

During the Wager Task things suddenly got real. There was a build-up of stress and anxiety. Dinkybliss went off script and completely threw everyone off with her elaborate acting. The man of the House, Biggie, was not impressed by their Wager Task presentation and informed them that they had lost the Wager.

  • Housemates Finally Start To Confess #BBMzansi

Housemates Finally Start To Confess #BBMzansi

A housemate arrives as the coolest guy on Earth and later reveals that keeping up this very appearance is rather taxing. Another makes a splashy entrance as a fierce superstar glamazon, and later reveals how they have always been a social pariah. We’re living for all this authenticity! Here are a couple of Housemates who later put down their masks and allowed us to see ourselves in them.

    SIS TAMARA

The fierceness of it all! During the Live Shows, Sis Tamara’s star quality helped them deliver an unforgettable entrance. They strutted in rocking a chic cape, which billowed into the sky as they debuted a larger than life personality that instantly set social media streets ablaze. Biggie needed more than the beautiful gowns, however. In preparation for the Wager Task, the Housemates were tasked with wearing their hearts on their sleeves. For a couple of days after dealing 100%, they assembled to tell us the truth about who they really are. This is when Sis Tamara dove into their past, revealing how they were rejected by their family and community for their sexual orientation and identity. We now know the fierceness didn’t come sunshine and roses, brutal situations have been endured.

    NALE

In her introduction, Nale shared how her parents always referred to her as “fine gyal, not a sad gyal”. It’s fitting; the beauty queen has cultivated a successful modelling career. It wasn’t until she revealed her own fair share of heavy burdens that “not a sad gyal” gained a new meaning. Nale is the pillar in her family, working hard to make ends meet and make sure her entire family still has lights on at the end of the day. It’s not the first thing many would expect of a model.

    ACACIA

She’s bubbly with an infectious personality. So, many couldn’t have easily predicted that Acacia has endured many afflictions, many of which she disguised with a big smile. Being the life of the party can be a deflection tactic. She’s mastered it. History of sexual assault, losing a close family member to HIV/AIDS, and many other devastating blows later, she’s still standing. And, as she said, laughing the loudest to “make it seem like I’m fine”.

    MPHOWABADIMO

Fresh out the gate, Nale picked up on Mphowabadimo’s calm and zen vibe. “I realised I’m not the calmest girl in the room”, she said. She’s beautiful inside and out. Surely she’s in her blissful element? While she might be getting there, Mphowabadimo’s story shook social media. From hiding the termination of a pregnancy from her mother to the financial struggles in her single mother managed family, to her traumatic initiation to being a sangoma, Mphowabadimo’s story has shown us that there’s always more than meets the eye.

    TERRY

She’s a self-proclaimed baddie. She’s definitely not afraid to express herself and live her life according to her own terms. But Terry’s successful career in the adult entertainment business has made things a bit tricky for her relationship with her mother. She’s misunderstood. She doesn’t want to have a normal job or be palatable by any societal standard. She’s who she is, but that very personality has alienated her from loved ones.

More confessions are definitely coming up as things continue to hit up.

Dwayne Johnson Began Training to play the DC Extended Universe antihero Black Adam since he was born

Black Adam star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson proclaimed that he’s been preparing to play the DC Extended Universe antihero since he was born.

“I started training for Black Adam when I came out of the womb,” Johnson joked to Men’s Journal. “I believe I was born to play this character. But in all honesty, this project has been with me for 10 ten years now. The process began when we started to stand the material up and really developed it into what it is present day. Once the start date was agreed on by our Seven Bucks production company, the rest of my team, Warner Bros. Studio, and DC Comics, I started to build an exhaustive training program with my coach Dave Rienzi. I wanted to come into this in the best shape of my career.”

Johnson previously discussed his plans to achieve the shape he needed to portray Black Adam, saying, “Shout to my long time strength and conditioning coach [Dave Rienzi] for the ever-evolving, strategic road map to success for this film and character. Month by month, week by week, day by day. 277 lbs of mean and nasty.”

As Johnson himself alluded to, Black Adam has been in the works for over a decade. “It’s like some things come fast, some things don’t, but it’s our job in this business to make sure we continue to keep all of them developing, and they’ll hatch when they’re ready,” executive producer Hiram Garcia recently explained. “When they’re ready, that’s when we give it to the world and go.”

Garcia also commented on Black Adam’s quality, which he had nothing but praise for. “A lot of times when you see that early cut, it sets a table where you realize, ‘Okay, now we understand how much work we got to do,” he said. “Granted, the movie’s in a stage where there are no effects done. It’s so fresh after filming. But anytime the movie is that entertaining and good in that raw of a form, it makes us very confident. So really excited about where the movie is. [Director Jaume Collet-Serra] has done such a good job.”

While not a great deal of information regarding its plot has been made available, an official synopsis for Black Adam notes the character will prepare to “unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world” after he’s set loose. As for his cinematic future, Garcia revealed that not only are there plans for a multiple-film arc for Black Adam but for multiple spinoffs, details of which remain under wraps.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam arrives in theatres on July 29.

According to her, she feels good about the decision she made, she feels like the weights are off her shoulders, she was overthinking a lot of things, personal things she added that she was going through a lot, and she can no longer do that with 17 other strangers in the same house.

Fans Already Want Mvelo Gone! #BBMzansi

It’s only day 2 and Big Brother Mzansi viewers are already fed up with housemate Mvelo Ntuli. The reasons are they are just not catching his vibe, at all!

The 28-year-old marketing graduate is not in tweeps’ good books and it started just a few hours into day 1. According to tweeps, when they tune in to the show, Mvelo always seems to be holding a plate of food in his hand. “This Mvelo guy is just there to eat!” exclaimed one viewer. Another said, “Every time I see Mvelo… he’s holding a plate or eating.”

Apart from his eating habits, other housemates think Mvelo’s weird laughter is a huge turn-off. Many have pointed out how he laughs almost all the time and lets out a chuckle after a few sentences.

This might be understandable because people have their own coping mechanisms to deal with nerves, especially if you are Live on television 24/7.

#BigBrotherMzansi Day 1: Housemates Getting To Know Each Other

In the early hours of their first morning in the House, the Housemates spent a large portion of their time getting to know each other.

The excitement and thrill about being the first to occupy the #BBMzansi House in seven years had everyone feeling a little ecstatic about making the cut.

The conversations are rich and fascinating, each revealing a new layer about a different Housemate. While talking about relationships in one of the bedrooms, Sis Tamara, QV and Norman seemed to be of one mind that Zino will turn out to be the flirt of the House. His calm, unassuming demeanour seemed to be the biggest attribute to his possibly being a flirt without knowing it. Their reasoning is that it will just come out naturally.

On the other hand, Gash1 has confessed to going rogue. He admits he has a girlfriend, but she wasn’t made aware of his intention to be in BBMzansi. QV’s curiosity got the best of her and had the Housemates share their ages.

It seems this lot are more excited about being age mates. In their hopes of finding relatability, we hope this fosters a pleasant week of getting to know each other before they start unravelling.

Terry Treasure aside from being a BB Mzansi housemate is a makeup artiste and an adult content creator from Johannesburg. She’s known as ‘The Treasure’ on Onlyfans where she shares exclusive photos to those who have subscribed to her content on there.

Seems this year’s BBMzansi is really going to be a thrill – fans have already started following and no one wants to miss even a minute. The show has been trending on social media platforms from the day the doors were open.
