Netflix SA and Connie Ferguson shared both details about the series on their official Instagram account. 27th of January has been announced as the premiere date of the much-anticipated series.

“Things are never as they seem in the city of Gold. #KingsOfJoburg Season 2 comes to Netflix on 27 January,” Connie wrote.

The news excites people but it’s reminded many of the late Shona Ferguson who was a lead actor in the series.

Shona confirmed the renewal of the film for season 2 but he died on the 3oth of July 2021, due to Covid complications.

Tributes have been sent to the late star as many anticipate the premiere of the new season.
