Bragga and DJ Zinhle have a peaceful relationship despite having AKA between them.

Meanwhile, Nadia claims to have always respected DJ Zinhle even before she started dating AKA whose real name is Kiernan Forbes.

“I’ve always respected her as an artist, as a mom, as a businesswoman. She’s somebody that I look up to and I’ve always looked up to even after Kiernan…So walking into this situation she really made me feel comfortable. I did not feel that weird energy from her like, ‘Oh my gosh, I don’t like being around you,’ she told the blog.

“She really embraced me which then also made me become comfortable. Kiernan set the precedence for both of us to make me feel comfortable as his girlfriend and not make me feel weirded out by my situation. He really was cognizant in making sure I feel comfortable,” she added.

Speaking of AKA and Zinhle’s daughter, Kairo Forbes, Nadia Nakai says the little girl is respectful and they are both cool.

“She’s the sweetest kid ever. She’s so respectful,” gushed Bragga. She then adds, “She is well rounded, she’s a good kid.”

“I love being around her as well, so everything just became easy and I think God just made sure everything worked out perfectly,” she added.

AKA, Nadia Nakai, Kairo Forbes and their family members are currently on holiday at Sun City; they are all having a great time together as seen in snaps shared on social media.

How to make your favourite KFC chicken at home

Earlier this week, KFC South Africa announced that some of its restaurants would be temporarily closed due to the ongoing load shedding.

Taking to social media, they wrote: “We are sorry, but due to the ongoing load shedding, some of our restaurants will be temporarily closed, while others may have limited availability on some of your favourite menu items. We apologise for the inconvenience and will be back soon.”

The restaurant said load shedding is impacting the supply of some of their restaurants and menu items and that they are working hard to sort out all the constraints with their suppliers.

The news did not sit well with chicken lovers, as many commented, asking the restaurant chain if they could not make alternatives. Some foodies even went as far as giving the restaurant ideas on what they could do.

One Twitter user asked KFC to “give us the recipes so we can do it ourselves” to which the restaurant responded by saying, “one of the biggest trade secrets in the world is the Colonel’s secret blend of 11 herbs and spices – it’s so secret that not even the company that produces the blend knows the exact formula!”

  • New study suggests not drinking enough water may shorten your life

New study suggests not drinking enough water may shorten your life

esearchers are keen on finding ways to slow aging and also detect habits that can speed up the natural aging process.

A new research from the Lancet suggests that dehydration can contribute to faster aging and ending life too soon.

On the other hand, older adults who are properly hydrated may live longer than those who aren’t, and have less health complications like heart and lung disease.

    About the study
Researchers wanted to test the hypothesis that staying hydrated might slow down the aging process. They tracked data over three decades on more than 11,200 adults who took part in the study. Participants were seen over five visits — two in their 50s, and the last between the ages of 70 and 90.

    How hydration levels are determined
The researchers used a serum sodium test to determine a person’s hydration and find out if they are dehydrated. The test checks how much sodium is in someone’s blood. According to the Mayo Clinic, a normal sodium level in a person’s blood should be between 135–145 millimoles per liter.

    Findings to note
The researchers found that sodium levels higher than 144 millimoles per liter were linked to a 21% increased risk of premature mortality. Sodium levels of 142 millimoles per liter or more were linked to a 39% higher risk of chronic disease.

This means that people with serum sodium levels of 142 mmol/l or higher have a greater chance of dying prematurely or developing a chronic health condition. So, according to the research, being chronically dehydrated can shorten your lifespan.

Even though staying hydrated is not the only key to a long life, it is definitely a step in the right direction for a healthier body.

How much water should you drink in a day?
According to the US CDC, there is no recommendation for how much plain water someone should drink. In general, experts recommend drinking at least six to eight cups of water per day. The National Academies for Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, US, recommends consumption of 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluid per day for men and 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) a day for women.

    Key takeaway
To stay hydrated, try to consistently drink plenty of water and fluids throughout the day, especially if you have an active routine. If you suspect your body is dehydrated, talk to your doctor on how you can remain healthily hydrated throughout the day.

  • 4 kegel exercises every woman should do

4 kegel exercises every woman should do

The pelvic floor refers to the muscles which support your organs including bladder, uterus and intestines.

The strength and general health of your pelvic floor muscles are vital to sexual function. They play an important role in arousal, pleasure, and orgasm response.

If your pelvic floor muscles are strong, you can experience a heightened orgasm response. The firmness can also improve pleasure for the partner.

    What are kegel exercises?
Kegel exercises are also known as pelvic-floor exercises. Essentially, these involve repeatedly contracting and relaxing your pelvic floor muscles.

The great thing about these exercises is that you can pretty much do them anywhere and anytime. If you do them right, no one can tell. Plus, you need no special equipment, attire or space in order to do a good kegel exercise session.

Before you begin exercising, the first step is to identify your pelvic floor muscles. If you are not sure, imagine that you have to urinate but there is no washroom around. How do you hold it? The muscles you clench (contract) are your pelvic floor muscles, which we shall strengthen through the following exercises.

    1. Pulses
Start by sitting in a comfortable position. You can also lie down if you want. Now remember the pelvic floor muscles you identified. All you need to do is to contract them like holding your pee, hold the clench for a second, and then release and relax the muscles.

Start with 15 counts at a time and then increase as you practice it daily. You can also do it multiple times in a day.

    2. Contract and hold
This is a more advanced stage of the previous exercise. All you need to do is to increase the duration of the hold for 3-5 seconds. You can do it whenever you find time. Do 10 reps in a row 3-4 times a day.

    3. Kegel with bridge
If you want to further strengthen and challenge your pelvic floor muscles, then give this exercise a try.

Lie on your back and bend your knees and feet hip width apart. Now, gently inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. As you exhale, simultaneously do a Kegel contracting of muscles and lift your hips slightly up. Return back to the original position and inhale, while relaxing your pelvic floor muscles. Repeat 10 times.

    4. Standing kegel
Stand tall with a good posture. Open your legs so that your feet stand hip width apart. First inhale for 5 seconds and then exhale for 5 seconds.

As you exhale, simultaneously do a Kegel by contracting and holding your muscles. Inhale and relax your muscles. Repeat 10 times.
