The sudden death of Kim Porter has brought Sean “Diddy” Combs and Cassieback together.
One month after E! News confirmed the hip-hop mogul and R&B singer had ended their years-long relationship, the two reunited on Friday afternoon. The exes were out in Los Angeles together one day after Porter, who is Diddy’s longtime ex-girlfriend and mother of three of his five children, was discovered dead at the age of 47.
Seen for the first time since the devastating news broke, 49-year-old Combs wore a hooded sweatshirt that said “Do the right thing” and red basketball shorts. Cassie, who he dated on and off for a decade, dressed casually in an oversized sweatshirt and yoga pants.
“Cassie reached out to Diddy,” a source tells E! News exclusively,”sending him a text message checking up on him and expressing her condolences.”
We’re told he was “pleasantly surprised” to hear from her and “very touched by her thoughtful text.”
As it stands, Porter’s cause of death is still unclear. The Los Angeles County Corner confirmed that an “additional investigation” is set to take place into the matter, though detectives previously said no foul play is suspected.
Following Porter’s death, Diddy, Kimora Lee Simmons and a slew of other loved ones were seen arriving to her Toluca Lake, Calif. home. Authorities told the media that Diddy was “extremely cooperative and understandably upset” when speaking to them.
Likewise, a source previously told E! News the rapper is “very heartbroken” and focused on the needs of their kids, 20-year-old Christian, and 11-year-old twin daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James. “Despite their differences, they always made things work for their children,” our source added. Porter and Combs’ love story spanned 13 years, and even after going their separate ways in 2007, the pair remained extremely close and committed to co-parenting.
Stan Lee‘s family honored his wishes by forgoing plans of a public memorial.
The Marvel Comics mogul, who died Monday at the age of 95, was honored in a private funeral service, his company POW! Entertainment announced in a statement.
“As we all continue to process our feelings of loss at the passing of a true legend, many are asking if there will be a memorial in Stan’s honor,” the statement read. “Stan was always adamant that he did not want a large public funeral, and as such his family has conducted a private closed ceremony in accordance with his final wishes. Our thoughts and prayers continued to be with them.”
Instead, fans looking to remember Lee have the opportunity to do so by visiting therealstanlee.com, where POW! Entertainment has created a “tribute wall” where friends, colleagues and longtime followers of the comic book icon can share messages. A larger tribute is also in the works, the company announced, and more information is set to be shared in “the days to come.”
“The grandeur of Stan makes this a monumental task,” the statement said.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, who died in July 2017. They had two surviving daughters, Joan and Jan Lee.
Lee’s longtime publicist confirmed his death in a statement to E! News, which read, “Stan Lee was a tremendous character that will never be forgotten. He brought joy to so many, the world has lost a true legend,” Miller said. “I feel honored to have worked with him for so many years and witnessed the magic of his charisma and creative genius, may he rest in peace.”
In the days since his passing, countless actors and filmmakers who worked with Lee shared heartfelt condolences and memories of the late icon.
If Jennifer Lawrence wants a piece of pizza, she’s going to eat a piece of pizza. The 28-year-old Oscar winner often works longs hours on movie sets, campaign shoots and other various projects, so she has a few coping mechanisms to get her through. “I start complaining. I have a pretty strict complaining regimen that I try to stick to. And I eat,” she shares in a new feature with Vogue, who interviewed the star on the set of her campaign for the new Dior fragrance, Joy.
The Red Sparrow actress shares with the publication that she would rather put in extra time in the gym than restrict her diet in order to look a certain way. “I don’t like when people say, ‘I only do this or eat this,'” she tells Vogue, “Because I eat. I’m not very strict with my diet: If I want a piece of pizza, I eat a piece of pizza.”
“But I do work out more than normal because I have a certain way that I want to look, and a way that I want to fit into my clothes,” she continues. “I get photographed when I’m not asking for it, so there’s added pressure to look and feel your best.”
She adds, “For me, it’s easier to put that extra effort into the gym instead of putting the extra effort into: ‘Oh no, I can’t eat that.'”
Vogue notes that Lawrence hits the gym with trainer Kit Rich, who she worked with during Red Sparrow. The duo does a combination of cardio and Pilates during their workouts together.
As for Lawrence’s daily makeup routine, the actress shares, “I don’t wear makeup. I always wear sunblock. Low bun. Dior Lip Glow. Sunglasses.”
Lawrence has been rocking some chic sunglasses this summer as she’s been spotted all over the world with her new boyfriend, Cooke Maroney.
After heating up the streets of New York City, the couple took their romance overseas in early August. Lawrence and Maroney were spotted holding hands as they strolled through Paris. The following week, cameras photographed the duo enjoying a romantic getaway in Rome.
Rumors of a romance between Lawrence and the 33-year-old New York art dealer first surfaced in June, with reports stating that they met through her BFF Laura Simpson. Since then, the couple has been almost inseparable and appear to still be going strong.
